DUBAI GLOBAL ENERGY FORUM

“ENERGY CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES - SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”

To conduct the activities of the DGEF , the DGEF High committee formed 4 sub-committees:

  • Advisory Committee
  • Media Committee
  • Public Relations Committee
  • Finance Committee

These committees are responsible to support the successful achievements and preparation of all DGEF’s activities.

Objective

The Forum objective is to provide a platform for energy leaders and experts to exchange views on emerging regional and global issues related to energy policies, programs, technologies and investment opportunities. It will also serve as a platform to share current and future policies and best practices adopted by major Energy stakeholders. The Forum also seeks to instigate discussions highlighting the environmental and sustainability issues affecting the region and the world. The Forum is the first global event of its kind in the Emirate of Dubai on energy related issues, which is considered among the most dynamic sectors in the world. The Emirate of Dubai shares the same global energy agenda, which centers around the security of supply, predicting and managing the energy demand growth, and the sustainable governance of the energy sector.

Concept

The Dubai Global Energy Forum 2013 is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and will take place over three days between 15-17 April 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Forum will consist of seven major tracks which consist of plenary and parallel sessions addressed by keynote speakers and panelists. Sessions will address specific topics in each track through in-depth analyses and will provide the audience with focused presentations and opportunities for discussions.

Forum Organization

The Forum is organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy’s Higher Organizing Committee is chaired by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, in his capacity as Chairman of the Supreme Council for Energy. The Supreme Council for Energy’s Higher Organizing Committee consists of vice-president, General Co-coordinator and 4 to 5 members in addition to the Secretary General of the Council of Economic Affairs. The Supreme Council has an advisory committee which is made of a number of qualified experts in the field of energy, as well as sub-committees such as financial committee, Media Committee, and Public Relations Committee. These sub-committees make all the required preparations and arrangements to effectively and professionally manage and run the activities of the Forum.

Beneficiaries

Energy Leaders, officials, planners and energy experts from government and private sectors, international organizations and academia from around the world will participate in the event. Participation in the Forum will be free of charge, but delegates must cover own costs related to their travel and stay.
